Chapter 5
|
|
There was still a slight nervousness between the two as they
stepped back in to the lounge room and sat down opposite each other. Almost as if each was
trying to sum up the other. |
Katie looked at Paul and put her hands to her face. "This time yesterday I didn't
even know you. I guess I'm just a little scared. You see I don't want to wake up in a
week's time to discover I've been nothing more than a foolish woman who failed to
think-through a situation". |
Paul stood to his feet and brought Katie up with him. He took her in his arms.
"Please don't fight it. If it wasn't mean't to be, I wouldn't be here. Everything, I
believe happens for a reason. Hell I didn't have to be on that flight. There were many to
choose from. You could've lied about where you worked and I'd never have found you. I just
believe today was mean't for us, and by god I'll do everything to keep you safe, protect
you and see that it stays in your mind for the rest of my life. |
"I needed to hear that" Katie said to herself, She felt her doubts
disappear forever as Paul ever so gently placed his lips upon hers. "You make me feel
so secure" she thought. |
As they drew apart, Katie ran her finger across his
lips. "You'll look a bit sus with lip gloss." "Oh I dunno , thum blokes
wear it," he said with a lisp. "Somehow you don't look the type." Again she
felt a tinge of excitment run up her spine. "Are we going somewhere special for lunch
or something, you haven't told me." When he didn't answer, Katie glanced over at him.
She couldn't believe a grown man could adopt such a sheepish grin. "Paul Redman, what
are you up to?" |
"How much time have we got?" |
